This policy explains how Malaysia's Top Ten — operated by ANICOM BRANDING & MARKETING SDN. BHD. (201901030410 / 1339740P) — ("we", "us") collects and uses personal data, consistent with the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA) of Malaysia.
What we collect
- Contact and enquiry forms — name, email, phone (optional), organisation (optional), and the content of your message or correction request.
- Nominations and submissions — the details you provide about yourself and the entity you are nominating or updating, including uploaded evidence.
- Profile claims — claimant name, position, organisation, official email, phone and supporting documents.
- People's Choice voting — your vote and technical signals (such as IP-derived indicators) used only for duplicate and abuse prevention.
- Newsletter — your email address, if you subscribe.
- Technical data — standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) used for security and site operation.
Why we use it
- To respond to enquiries, assess corrections, review nominations and process profile claims.
- To run voting campaigns fairly (duplicate and abuse prevention).
- To send the newsletter you subscribed to.
- To operate, secure and improve the website.
We do not sell personal data. We do not use your data for purposes unrelated to the ones above without asking you first.
Who processes it
We use reputable service providers to run the site — website hosting, database hosting and email delivery. These providers process data on our behalf and may store it outside Malaysia. We share personal data with no one else, except where the law requires it.
Retention
We keep submissions and enquiries for as long as needed to handle them and maintain an editorial record, then delete or anonymise them. Newsletter emails are kept until you unsubscribe.
Your rights
Under the PDPA you may request access to the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or withdraw consent to further processing (which may limit what we can do for you — for example, we cannot process a correction request without contact details). Write to hello@malaysiatopten.com.
